Just about every husker fan I've talked to about the huskers in the post season are talking about the Rose Bowl game, and how the huskers will definitely be apart of it. For this to happen the Cornhuskers have to still win out to get to the conference championship game. Every year for at least the past 4 years the huskers have lost to at least one unranked opponent at home, and this year, it still hasn't happened yet. I'm not saying I don't believe that the huskers will make it to the rose bowl game, I'm just saying we shouldn't get too ahead of ourselves. The team needs to take these last few weeks seriously. If we can do that, the huskers have a great chance of winning the conference.
It seems to me as if the conference championship game has been over looked by just about everyone. Most likely the Huskers will play Wisconsin again, and if you don't remember that game this year, it was the closest yet. The team definitely has the talent to pull of a win. They have just got to be able to play sound football without any mistakes and NO TURNOVERS. This next fact will blow you away, every game in the past 50 years the huskers played where the turnover margin was even or in the huskers favor, they've only lost two games. So the two main factors that go into this game, and into every game, for that matter, are turnovers and penalties. No turnovers and only 10 yards of penalties, and the Huskers will find themselves with their first conference championship win in over 10 years and a chance to win the Rose Bowl for the second time in school history.

Nebraska vs. Northwestern
First off, I would like to appologize, about my last post. I said that last week the huskers would take on the Michigan wolverines, but they took on the Northwestern Wildcats. So, since I've already talked about the michigan game, ill talk about last weeks game, against Northwestern. This game was probably the worst I've ever seen when it comes to special teams, preferably on the punt return team. There were countless muffed punts that turned into turnovers. But, the blackshirts definitely pulled their weight with a handful of 3 and outs. The entire first half the wildcats only had one first down, which is ground breaking for the husker defense this year. Taylor Martinez had a particularly good game, he has gotten a lot better, but when he is under a lot of pressure, he goes back to his old crappy footwork. As for the whole team there was a lack of fundamentals, poor tackling and whatnot... But this is not surprising considering how the season has gone so far. If Nebraska continues to have the fundamental problems, there is no way that they can win next week, as well as winning out. These problems need to be fixed if the huskers expect to win the rest of their games.
On a side note - Nebraska filled up half the northwestern stadium, making it basically a home game. keep that up husker fans!

Huskers fall to the Buckeyes
The number 21st ranked huskers fall out the the rankings this weekend by a devastating loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes. The major factor in the huskers losing this game was the turnovers, and especially the pick 6 early in the game. If the husker offense hadn't have turned the ball over so many of times, the game definitely would have been a lot closer, and maybe it might have turned out in a husker victory. The fumble that Martinez had, I don't blame Taylor. He had no blocking on that particular play. over all the huskers definitely could have played a lot better. It was just a down right sloppy performance by the huskers on both sides of the ball. Defensively, it is a re-occurring theme for the blackshirts, poor and missed tackles turned into 63 points for the buckeyes, and ultimately was the cause of the loss last weekend in Columbus.

Nebraska football 2012 season so far
Nebraska Football has taken a start in which fans may not have expected. They looked average in their season opener against Southern Miss but lost their starting running back Rex Burkhead to a knee injury and pulled off a 49-20 victory and continued to lead the nation in the longest home opener winning streak with 27 home opener wins.
But then things took a turn for the worse when they were stunned by UCLA in their first loss of the season, losing 30-36. The Blackshirts did not show up to play that saturday in pasadena. It is obvious that the husker offense isn't as potent with out Rex Burkhead. but they were still abel to put up 30 points on the bruins, with the help of husker kicker Brett Maher, running back Ameer Abdullah, And the one and only Taylor Martinez
The huskers came back home after a tough loss and turned things around with a huge victory against the arkansas state red wolves, winning 42-13. The strange thing about this game, was that head coach Bo Pelini left in an ambulance at half time. The huskers went on to finish the game no problem.
After the Bo Pelini scare, the huskers went on to destroy The Idaho State Bengals 73-7. Even though it was a given, since Idaho State is an FCS team and they are subpar compared to the level of power nebraska is.
Last saturday was homecoming, and that saturday night definitely had a different feel to it in lincoln. Both teams wearing their alternate uniforms. Which for nebraska, was big, because nebraska usually doesn't like to change their uniforms. Even a little change with the stripe on the shoulder sparked a big controversy. As for the game, a sloppy start turned into a beautiful finish for the 22nd ranked cornhuskers on homecoming night. Lincoln was definitely buzzing after this great victory, and the students partied all night long.
